Martha Grazier was born in Lexington KY in 1930.
Her father worked and her mother stayed home and raised the family. Growing up during the great depression affected the Grazier family like most small town KY families of the time. Money was tight so Martha and her siblings were raised in a very “make do” atmosphere and this stuck with Martha through her entire life. Why buy it when I can make it myself is her way of thinking.
She doesn’t stop there either. She also grows most of her own food. Starting in May Martha is a full time gardener. Plotting out corn, green beans, cabbage, lettuce, peppers, and a slew of other delicious vegetables keeps her busy as a bee. Obviously at the age of 91 she now let’s the younger members of her family take the lead when it comes to the hard work. But she still supervises the scheduling and keeps a close eye on most anything and everything that gets her attention.
